How it works
Using this tool
Start with your average concurrent audience and total monthly broadcast hours, rather than total views or followers.
Set ad minutes per broadcast hour and the assumed length of one ad spot. A minute of ads can contain more than one spot.
Adjust the ad-eligible audience, blocking and fill assumptions. Enter low, middle and high CPMs on the same net advertising revenue basis.
Use your channel's actual creator share if available. Compare the three results before making a scheduling decision.
Method
Spots per hour = ad minutes × 60 ÷ seconds per spot. Potential impressions = concurrent viewers × hours × spots per hour. Served impressions = potential impressions × eligible audience × (1 − blocked fraction) × fill. Creator earnings = served impressions ÷ 1,000 × assumed net-revenue CPM × creator share. Each adjustment is applied once.
Example
With 100 concurrent viewers, 80 broadcast hours and 3 ad minutes per hour made of 30-second spots, there are 48,000 potential impressions. At 70% eligibility, 10% blocking and 80% fill, 24,192 are served. A $4 net-revenue CPM and 55% creator share produce an illustrative $53.22 for the month.
Assumptions & limitations
- The example CPMs and 55% share are planning inputs, not a guaranteed Twitch rate. Twitch does not publish a universal CPM. Enter a net-revenue CPM before the creator split; a creator-effective CPM would apply that split twice.
- Eligibility accounts for ad-free viewers such as relevant subscribers or Turbo viewers. Blocking applies only to that remaining audience; fill represents ads actually served after those exclusions.
- This steady-audience model does not simulate ad-break drop-off, geography, device mix, seasonality, pre-rolls or guaranteed campaigns. Fractional impressions are model expectations, not a billing record.
- Income tax, payout fees and withholding are not calculated. Ads Manager eligibility and your agreement determine actual revenue sharing.
Common questions
Does running three ad minutes guarantee a 55% share?
Twitch documents qualifying Ads Manager arrangements, but this calculator cannot confirm your enrollment, agreement or delivery. The share remains editable and is never automatically inferred from ad minutes.
Why use concurrent viewers instead of monthly views?
Concurrent viewers estimate how many people are present during each spot. Monthly views include repeat visits and people who may never see an ad; substituting them would inflate impressions.
Can I enter a CPM from my revenue dashboard?
Check its definition first. The CPM field here is net advertising revenue per thousand served impressions before your creator split. If your figure already represents creator earnings, set the creator share to 100%.
